Our production it is limited, seasonal and artisan. Unpasteurized, mixed or ultrafiltered. Without using synthetic products.
We produce our honey in a totally artisan and sustainable way. With own harvests limited by the weather conditions of each season. Old fashioned. Both in cork hive and in traditional hive.
This natural and limited production gives our honey a high content of antioxidants, such as polyphenols.
Augl is different.
It is a pure, raw and ecological honey that is born in the area of influence of the Cabañeros National Park.
A perfect environment, where our bees forage in the great variety of flowers in the area.
How do we get
our honey?
We build the hive: For a few days, we submerge the cork of the cork oak in water with a weight on top to obtain the flat shape of the hive. These corks are obtained in a sustainable way taking advantage of the uncorking of the cork oaks in the area.
1.
We assemble the blanket where the bees hold their wax honeycomb with the wood from the branches of the local rockrose.
2.
We create the swarms with the first blooms of spring and until mid-June, assessing the population overload in the hives.
3.
During the months of July and August we proceed to extract honey from the colony. To do this, we uncover the blanket from the hive and extract the bees, using a smoker. About 20cm in diameter are cut from the inside of the hive to extract the honeycomb with honey.
Four.
These combs are transferred to the packing machine, where they are pressed to extract the honey.
5.
Once decanted, the honey is packed in its final container.

Types of hive
Cork Beehive
(without human intervention)
Cork, or cork oak bark, is used to house the bees inside, and that they themselves build their honeycomb from the branches of the rockrose. This system represents and rescues the beekeeping tradition.
Mobile Honeycomb Hive
(with human intervention)
It is the most used today. It is made up of a series of moving frames within a box, in which a sheet of wax is inserted into each moving frame within a box. The bees will stretch this wax until they build their honeycomb.
Our Values
QUALITY
We think that quality goes hand in hand with sustainable development that is committed to the circular economy. We make our honey completely by hand, without ultrafiltering and without adding any type of additive. That is why it preserves all its properties and benefits.
ANIMAL WELFARE
We treat our bees with the utmost care and respect. They feed exclusively on their own honey and pollen, without receiving any other type of food that alters the composition of the honey.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS 2030
3 .
Our bees are the fundamental part of our project. They contribute to 10 of the 17 sustainable development goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. Beyond producing honey, bees play a key role in improving the production of some two billion small farmers in the world, ensuring food and nutrition for the growing population. Bees are also responsible for preserving biodiversity on our planet.

2 .
Our commitment to sustainability is total.
Augl is a project based on organic livestock and the use of materials that are integrated into the environment and respectful of their surroundings.
Sustainable, both in its production and in its packaging.
We make our honey in a 100% artisanal and ecological way, using only natural and non-polluting substances to combat the bee parasite.
Our cork packaging is reusable, and is a tribute to our artisan beehives, built with local cork oak bark. Cork is a naturally waterproof material, chemically inert, flame resistant and a fantastic thermal insulator.
For our flower packaging we have used an environmentally friendly paper, made with cotton fibers discarded from the industrial process, to which flower seeds, aromatic plants, etc. have been added. The inks used in the printing are vegetable-based, without mineral oils or volatile organic compounds.
